Dot mini readers book club! Good Dog McTavish by Meg Rosoff

 Join us for another mini readers book club! We are reading Good Dog McTavish by Meg Rosoff.

The Peachey family is in crisis. No one cooks dinner, no one picks up the dirty washing and thekids are always late for school. All because Mum has resigned from being Mum and taken up yogainstead. She's in the tree pose; everyone else is in the doghouse. Except McTavish, a rescue dog witha difference, on a mission to sort his new family out...Filled to the brim with Meg's wry humour and beautiful prose, this is a story for the young and the young at heart.

A little bit about Book Club:

Reading is a gift! Opening up a discussion about a book with a peer is something I believe encourages deeper understanding of ourselves, confidence and love of language. I believe reinforcing a shared passion for reading amongst children will give them tools to face obstacles and challenges later in life :)

Your copy of the book includes a free ‘book club’ bookmark. Select 'local pickup' or 'local delivery' to avoid shipping charges!  

We have different options including book only/meetup only/or a package including both - so just choose from the drop down menu whatever suits you best :)

We have two date options, to give the groups some space.  We encourage parents to stay for the session if they'd like - but a drop and go is totally fine if you need to dash. There will be staff on hand for parents to purchase coffees and teas.

The format of the book club is loosely along the lines of: a discussion around the book and the characters. A game or activity, followed by a snack, maybe a craft or art project around the book, followed by another short discussion or game.
